Poetry
“To send a thrill of electricity through each of my listeners, I aspire.
My words are the electrodes.
My cadence, the tempo I want their hearts to match.
At the core, spoken word is performance poetry, often written on a page and best experienced from a stage.
And this is more.
This is awakening work. Nurturing work.
Both fierce and gentle.
This is Raw Honey.”

I. Love. Words.
I can’t help it.
Letters make syllables that form morphemes to build a sentence.
That’s magical to me.
How if I let one word
tumble off my tongue
and linger in this room,
I can conjure enough memories
to fill the deepest canyons of the Andes.
That’s power.
The ability to enter into minds
with the gentle stroke of a sharpened pencil
and lift you from your seat in outrage
or transport you to another dimension
just by tapping
your imagination.
